The BIG RIDE is a fundraising cycle challenge that takes place in a different location each year.

June 21 – 23, 2024, riders will cycle along the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail ending in beautiful Inverness. Over three days, participants will bike & hike and take in world-class scenery and enjoy down-home hospitality that only Cape Breton can offer! 


Funds raised from The BIG RIDE go directly to advance cancer research through the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute at Dalhousie University. The minimum fundraising required for each rider is $1,000.

In June 21-23, 2024, GO BIG and GIVE BIGGER as you cycle along the gorgeous Celtic Shores Coastal Trail in Cape Breton.

Choose from two distance options: 

  • 90 kms from Troy Station trail head to Inverness
  • 50 kms from Port Hood trail head to Inverness. 

Day 1: Cycle your chosen distance along the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail into Inverness

Day 2: Hike the breathtaking Cape Mabou Hiking Trail

Day 3: Cycle on the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail back to the start line

Registration Fees:
 

There are two registration fee options for The BIG RIDE:

$399 – this option includes 2 nights accommodations at Inverness Beach Village cottages in Inverness, 2 breakfasts, 2 on-the-trail lunches, 1 group dinner, on-the-trail snacks, hydration & event support, full swag kit including branded t-shirt, water bottle & medal.

$199 – this option DOES NOT include accommodations or breakfasts. This is for participants who are local to Inverness and do not require accommodations at Inverness Beach Village cottages. Your registration will include 2 on-the-trail lunches, 1 group dinner, on-the-trail snacks, hydration & event support, full swag kit including branded t-shirt, water bottle & medal.
